Where to stay?
Menorca is a small island of little more than 50 km from end to end and that develops most of its activities inland.
To help you decide which is the best area to stay in Menorca, we present below several inputs
On this island you have the option of staying in one of its main cities, Mahón or Ciutadella, in one of its inland towns or in a small rural hotel, or on one of its wonderful beaches.
At a general level, two large areas are distinguished, the south coast and the north coast.
The south coast is the one that is more developed touristically.
This part of the coast has very touristy beaches where hotels are concentrated and other virgin or semi-virgin beaches where it is not possible to stay.
Its beaches are of very white and fine sand, one hundred percent crystal clear turquoise water, and a lot of pine forest.
On the other hand, much of the north coast is a protected area where building is prohibited. Even so, there are a few beaches with tourist development and hotels. The landscape of this part of the island is more rugged and wild than the south coast.
The beaches in this area are very different from each other, since there are some with very white sand, others have a golden color, and there are also some with dark sand. They all share a very beautiful landscape and dazzlingly clear water.
Santo Tomas is a beach from the south coast of Menorca.
Saint Thomas has 530 meters in length, nails turquoise blue waters and fine white sand.
Santo Tomás is a very popular beach for any type of public: both for families, couples and groups of friends.
You can play spades in the sand; the water does not cover too quickly for the little ones and there is space to find a corner (although in July and August it is difficult)
Located in the south of Menorca, in the municipality of Es Migjorn Gran, and a privileged position on the beachfront of Santo Tomás.
Villa Le Blanc de Gran Meliá, an efficient and environmentally responsible hotel model. Close to the best cultural points and coves with crystal clear water, the hotel shines with vernacular architecture, where light floods the spaces through large arches. The white of its stone allows it to integrate into the natural environment of the south coast of the island. This, in turn, is reflected in the hotel's landscaping project, based on a Mediterranean garden that reaches the very gates of the sea.
It is one of the best known and most spectacular beaches in Menorca. It is shaped like a shell and is flanked by a cliff from which you can admire a fabulous view. It is undoubtedly one of the best beaches to stay in Menorca.
In its urbanization there is a bit of everything. You will find a shop, bars, restaurants, and you will not be short of options to practice water sports, and make excursions on foot in the area.
Some of these excursions will take you to one of the most beautiful virgin beaches on the island. Cala Galdana is ideal for families with children, couples, and also for singles.
